How do I modify the name of a device connected to the HUAWEI router

Method 1: Using the AI Life App

  1. Connect your phone to the router's Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open the AI Life App, touch the corresponding router to access the router management screen.
  3. Then click Connected devices (or go to Devices > Connected devices), and click the name of device you want to modify from the list of online.
  4. Touch and enter your desired device name, then touch OK to confirm.

Method 2: Using the web-based management page

The following screenshot is taken from the web-based management page. On phones, tablets and other mobile devices, your browser will display a simplified version of the web-based management page

  1. Connect your computer/phone to the router's Wi-Fi , or connect the computer to the router's LAN port using an Ethernet cable. Open your Internet browser. Enter the default IP address in your browser address bar and log in to the web-based management page(check the nameplate at the bottom of the router for the default IP address).
     
    • For routers that feature self-adaptive ports, you do not need to distinguish between WAN and LAN ports.
    • If you are connecting your phone to the router's Wi-Fi network, switch your phone's webpage to the PC-based UI before performing the following operations.
  2. Enter the Manage Device page (Some routers need to switch from tile mode to list mode).
  3. Touch and enter your desired device name.
