Scenarios when message/incoming call notifications are silent
It is by design that your wearable device won't vibrate or ring to notify you of new messages/incoming calls in certain scenarios. Please check if your situation falls into any of the following:
- When the smart notifications feature is enabled (not applicable to incoming call notifications or iOS devices)
- Scenario: You have not logged in to WeChat on your watch, and Mute notifications when using phone/Smart notifications/Single device is enabled.
- Symptom: When the phone is unlocked and the screen is on, the watch/band does not notify you of messages.
- How to disable:
Go to Huawei Health > Devices > Notifications and disable Mute notifications when using phone/Smart notifications.
- In Do not disturb/Sleep mode
When Do not disturb or Sleep mode is enabled on your watch/band, your watch/band will not ring or vibrate when receiving incoming calls or messages. Automatic entering and exiting Sleep mode is supported only on certain models.
- Products released before April 2025: Swipe down on the watch face to disable Do not disturb and Sleep mode.
- Products released after April 2025: Swipe down on the watch face to access Focus and disable Do not disturb and Sleep mode.
- No notifications after falling asleep: Go to Sleep > Sleep mode and disable Auto.

- During wearing detection
Scenario: Only show notifications when worn is enabled on your watch/band, so no notifications will be pushed when the device is not worn. For some models, the device only vibrates for push notifications when the switch is enabled.
How to disable: Go to Settings > Accessibility features/Notifications > Only show notifications when worn. (If this option is not available on your watch/band, no notifications will be pushed when the device is not worn.)

HUAWEI WATCH 5, HUAWEI WATCH 10th Anniversary Edition, HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2, and HUAWEI WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN Royal Gold Edition: The device is designed not to vibrate or ring to notify you of incoming calls when you are not wearing it. However, the device will still vibrate or ring when receiving messages.
- Other cases
- Charging: By default, the device does not vibrate or turn on its screen for push notifications.
- During a call: If your phone is connected to your wearable device via Bluetooth calling, the wearable device will not vibrate or ring to notify you when the phone receives a new message. To view the message, swipe up on the wearable home screen to access the message notification center.
- Vibration settings: Go to Settings > Vibration and set the vibration strength to Strong or Soft.
