Setting up dual monitors for a HUAWEI computer

Precaution:

Check the types and number of ports that support the display function on your computer. If your computer does not have an HDMI or VGA port, check whether it has multiple USB-C ports that support DisplayPort. If so, you can connect two monitors to it through the USB-C ports. If your computer has HDMI or VGA ports, you can connect two monitors to it through the HDMI or VGA ports.

  • If you are not sure whether the USB-C ports of your computer support DisplayPort, call the service hotline.
  • Here we use setting up dual monitors for a computer through HDMI and VGA ports as an example.
  • If you want to connect your computer to a monitor, projector, or TV, click here.

Procedure:

  1. Connect an HDMI cable and a VGA cable respectively to two monitors.
  2. Connect the other ends of the HDMI and VGA cables to the HDMI and VGA ports on your computer. Ensure that the computer is properly connected to the monitors and can identify the monitors.
  3. Turn on the computer and monitors, press Win+P to open the PROJECT settings, and select a projection mode.
    • PC screen only: Monitor 1 displays all content, and Monitor 2 does not display any content.
    • Duplicate: The same content is displayed on both monitors.
    • Extend: Monitor 1 displays all content, and Monitor 2 displays the system interface. You can move an app to Monitor 2.
    • Second screen only: Monitor 2 displays all content, and Monitor 1 does not display any content.

  4. If your computer does not support dual-screen display on two monitors, you can:
    1. Right-click a blank area on the desktop and select Display settings to enter the Display screen.
      • Detect: If another monitor has been connected but is not displayed on the Display screen, click Detect, so that the system will automatically detect the new monitor.
      • Identify: If you want to view the number corresponding to the monitor (1 or 2), click Identify, so that the number allocated by the system will be displayed on the monitor.
    2. If you want to set Monitor 2 as the primary monitor, drag Monitor 2 to the front of Monitor 1 on the Display screen with the mouse, and select Make this my main display (this mode is only valid under the Extend these displays option).
