Introduction to virtual nol cards
Virtual nol cards are non-contact value cards that enable users to make simple and secure payments. The nol cards are widely used for transport and park tickets in Dubai, including in the Etihad Museum and more than 2,000 stores. Gold nol cards support first-class and ordinary seats.
Silver nol cards only support ordinary seats.
The 7-day pass nol cards allow unlimited riding of subways, buses, and trains for 7 calendar days from the effective date.
The Huawei Pay app can only be associated with one virtual nol card.
PREREQUISITES FOR ACTIVATING A VIRTUAL NOL CARD
The following requirements must be met regardless of whether the virtual nol card is enabled via the Wallet app or the nol Pay app:
- Your phone is purchased from an official channel.
- The Wallet app is version 9.0.11.324 or later.
- The phone model supports virtual nol cards.
- You have logged in to the Wallet app with a locally registered HUAWEI ID. (You can switch to your current location if the registration region of your HUAWEI ID is not your current location.)
- Huawei Pay supports the purchase of a 7-day pass card.
- Virtual transportation cards and physical transportation cards enjoy the same discounts.
- The location in the settings of the AppGallery app is set to UAE.
To update Wallet, open AppGallery, search for HUAWEI Wallet, and check whether Open is displayed next to HUAWEI Wallet. If a new version is available, touch Update.
Note: If the HUAWEI Wallet app has been downloaded from a third-party app store, it may have functional issues. It is recommended that you download HUAWEI Wallet from Huawei AppGallery.
How to activate a virtual nol card
Method 1: Adding a new virtual nol card
- Open Wallet and touch the + button next to transportation cards.
- Select the transportation card you want to add.
- Touch Add a new digital card.
- Select a top-up amount and confirm the fee.
- Select a bank card to make the payment (a bank card needs to be linked first). After the payment is successful, wait for about 1 minute for the amount to be topped up.
Method 2: Digitalizing an existing physical card
- Open Wallet and touch the + button next to transportation cards.
- Select the transportation card you want to add.
- Touch Digitalize an existing physical card and follow the onscreen instructions to sync the data from the physical card.
- Touch Continue and wait for a few minutes for the card to be digitalized.
Currently, virtual nol cards activated via the Wallet app only support payments made via Dubai pay.
