What to do if the top-up is abnormal or fails
Top-up conditions
- Ensure that your phone is connected to the Internet and NFC is enabled when you top up your card. The payment methods for Transportation cards are subject to the options displayed on the screen.
- Ensure that the Wallet app is updated to its latest version. To check the app version, go to .
- Currently, virtual Nol cards activated via the Wallet app can only be topped up via Dubai pay.
If the time you place the order is inconsistent with the payment time displayed on the order details screen, it may be due to the gap between the time you placed the order and the time the bank returned the confirmation after processing your payment. This is normal. If you have further questions, please contact the third-party payment platform.
Top-up methods
- Top up via the Wallet app
Go to
, touch the top-up option beneath the card you want to top up, and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.You can select a fixed top-up amount or enter an amount within the top-up limit (from AED 20 to AED 150).
The top-up amount in each city will vary depending on the policies of the corresponding company and is subject to the amount displayed on the screen.
What to do if the top-up is abnormal or fails
To resolve this issue, perform the following:
1. Check whether the Wallet app has been updated to the latest version.
Open AppGallery, search for and touch Wallet, and check whether Open is displayed next to Wallet. If Open is not displayed, which indicates that a new version is available, touch Update.
Note: If the Wallet app is downloaded from a third-party app store, it may have functional issues. It is recommended that you download Wallet from AppGallery.
2. Try topping up your card again.
Update the Wallet app to its latest version, go to , touch Top-up under the card, and then follow the onscreen instructions to top up the card again.
3. Call the customer service hotline for assistance or go to a service window to top up your card.
If the top-up fails after several attempts, call the customer service hotline at 80066600 for assistance. Alternatively, go to a service window or self-service machine in the subway station to top up your Transportation cards.
4. Wait patiently for the automatic refund if the top-up failed
Some Transportation cards may support refund applications once the top-up fails. If such an option is displayed on the top-up screen, you can apply for a refund as prompted. If the top-up fails, the top-up amount will be automatically refunded to your payment account within 10 working days. The time when the refunded amount is received will vary depending on the payment method.
