There are several ways to update the printer's firmware, depending on the type of the connected device.
Currently, the Huawei Print client cannot be used to update printer firmware.
If you are using a mobile device, such as a phone or tablet, and you have connected it to your printer using the AI Life app, use any of the following methods to update your printer's firmware.
- Automatic firmware update: Open the HUAWEI AI Life app, access the printer homepage, touch
in the upper right corner, select General, and enable Auto-update. Your printer will automatically download and install available firmware updates when it is not being actively used, and will then restart to complete the update process.
- Manual firmware update:
- Open the HUAWEI AI Life app, access the printer homepage, touch
in the upper right corner, select Firmware Update, and follow the onscreen instructions to update the printer's firmware when a new firmware version is available.
- Open the HUAWEI AI Life app, go to Me > Settings > Device updates, and follow the onscreen instructions to update the printer's firmware when a new firmware version is available.
- Open the HUAWEI AI Life app, access the printer homepage, touch
If you are using a Huawei computer running Windows and have added the printer via HUAWEI PC Manager, access the printer homepage, and select Firmware update. Download and update the printer's firmware when a new firmware version is available.
