The screen on my HUAWEI MateBook E Go changes to Portrait mode unexpectedly

Problem

  1. When a HUAWEI MateBook E Go is connected to a folio keyboard, the screen changes to Portrait mode and doesn't restore automatically.
  2. When a HUAWEI MateBook E Go restarts after a system update, the screen changes to Portrait mode and doesn't restore automatically.

Cause

The screen display orientation issue may occur because the system driver was updated when the device's system was being updated, or because certain apps affect the gravity sensor when the computer is powered on or in use.

Solution

  • To change the screen display orientation, perform the following steps:
    1. Right-click on the Start icon, and select Settings from the shortcut menu.

    1. Go to System > Display, and set Display orientation to Landscape.

  • Disconnect and re-connect the folio keyboard, or restart the computer after disconnecting and re-connecting the folio keyboard. Check whether this resolves the issue.

  • If the issue persists, feel free to call the Huawei consumer service hotline for assistance. You can also back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
