Wireless projection from a phone/tablet/computer to a HUAWEI computer
  1. Open the Connect window on the computer.
    • Not using wireless projection for the first time
      1. Enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the computer.
      2. Press Win + I to open the Settings window. Go to System > Projecting to this PC, modify the projection permission settings as required, and remember the name of the current computer.

    • Using wireless projection for the first time
      1. Enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the computer.
      2. Press Win+I to open the Settings window, and go to System > Projecting to this PC.

      3. Go to Optional features > View features (Windows 10: Go to Optional features > Add a feature). Enter Wireless in the search box, select Wireless Display from the search results, and click Next > Add.

      4. After the installation is complete, restart the computer.
      5. Press Win+I to open the Settings window, and go to System > Projecting to this PC. Click Open Connect to project to this PC. You will then see your computer name, and be prompted that your computer is ready for a wireless connection.

  2. Enable the wireless projection feature on the other device (such as a phone, a tablet, or another computer), select your computer's name from the available device list, and connect both devices.
     
    • The actual path to enable the wireless projection feature varies depending on the device models. For details, consult device retailers.
    • Connecting your phone to your computer using Huawei PC Manager may affect the wireless projection feature on your phone. To resolve this issue, go to My devices > My phone > Disconnect to disconnect the connection, then close the Connect window on your computer, and try again.
    • HUAWEI phone: Mate 10 (EMUI 9.0 or later)

      Go to Settings > Device Connectivity (Bluetooth, NFC, Easy Projection) > Easy projection, enable Wireless projection, and connect to the target device.

    • HUAWEI phone: HONOR V10 (EMUI 9.0 or later)

      Go to Settings > Device Connectivity > Wireless projection, enable Wi-Fi, and connect to the target device.

    • HUAWEI phone: HONOR 9 (EMUI 8.0 or later)

      Go to Settings > Device Connectivity (Bluetooth, NFC, Printing) > Multi-screen, and connect to the target device.

    • OnePlus 5T

      Go to Settings > Bluetooth and device connections > Connection preferences > Screen projection, and connect to the target device.

    • Xiaomi 8 and Redmi Note 5

      Go to Settings > More connection methods > Wireless display, enable Wireless display, and connect to the target device.

    • vivo NEX

      Go to Settings > Smart screen casting, and connect to the target device.

    • OPPO R11 Plus

      Go to Settings > Other wireless connections > Multi-screen and enable Multi-screen. Only projecting to TVs and TV boxes is supported. To project to a computer, you need to download a separate projection app, such as AirDroid or ApowerMirror.

    The following uses HUAWEI P40 Pro as an example:

    1. Swipe down to open Control Panel, enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and select Wireless Projection.

    2. Your phone will automatically search for nearby devices that can be projected to, and you can select the name of your computer from the list of available devices.

    3. Your phone screen will then be displayed on the Connect window.

    4. You can choose whether to enable privacy protection (if enabled, banner notifications and Multi-Window will not be displayed on the external display during projection), and select a specific app to project to the external display.

      After projection is enabled on some phone models, the Desktop mode option may not be available. The actual screen may vary.

    5. To disconnect wireless projection, tap the Projection button on your phone.
