* The following video is for reference only.
Principle behind push notifications
When the Huawei Health app is connected to your wearable device via Bluetooth, the new messages displayed in the notification panel of your phone will be pushed to your wearable device.
Tips:
- If you have enabled Notify on one device and Mute notifications when using phone/Smart notifications, your watch/band will not notify you when your phone is unlocked and the screen is on. You can disable this feature if you do not need it. To disable this feature: Go to Huawei Health > Devices > Notifications > Notification mode, and select Notify on both devices or disable Mute notifications when using phone/Smart notifications.

- If Only show notifications when worn is enabled on your wearable device, it will not notify you of incoming messages. You can go to Settings > Notifications and toggle off Only show notifications when worn. (The following figure uses the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 3 as an example.)

- When Do Not Disturb/Sleep mode is enabled, your wearable device will not notify you of new messages. You can swipe down on the watch home screen to disable Do Not Disturb/Sleep mode.

Setting message notifications
- Enable notification access for the Huawei Health app.
- HUAWEI phones: Open Settings, search for and access the Notification access screen, and toggle on the switch for Huawei Health.

- Samsung phones (running Android 13, as an example): Go to Settings > Apps >
> Special access > Notification access, and toggle on the switch for Huawei Health. - Xiaomi phones (running MIUI 12, as an example): Go to Settings > Privacy > Manage > Special app access > Notification access, and toggle on the switch for Huawei Health.
If you are using a phone running Android 13, go to Settings > Apps > Huawei Health > More (in the upper right corner) > Allow restricted settings > Allow, go back to Huawei Health > Notifications, and enable notifications for the Huawei Health app.
- HUAWEI phones: Open Settings, search for and access the Notification access screen, and toggle on the switch for Huawei Health.
- Enable notifications in Huawei Health.
Open the Huawei Health app, go to Devices > Notifications, enable Sync notifications from phone to watch/Notifications, and turn on the switches for apps that you want to receive messages from.

- Enable app notifications on your phone.
- HUAWEI phones: Go to Settings > Notifications & status bar > the corresponding app, enable Allow notifications, and set the notification mode (such as Ringtone, Vibration, Banners, and Lock screen) for each type of message in the app, and disable Gentle notifications.

- Samsung phones: Go to Settings > Notifications > App notifications, select the target app, and toggle on the corresponding switch.
- Xiaomi phones: Go to Settings > Notification and Status bar > Notification management, select the target app, enable Allow notifications, and enable Floating notifications and Lock screen notifications.
You'll need to disable App lock and Notification filtering if you're using a Xiaomi phone, by going to Settings > Apps > App lock > Hide notification content, and toggling off the switch for the target app.
- Specific settings may vary depending on your phone model and system version. For details, contact your phone's manufacturer.
- HUAWEI phones: Go to Settings > Notifications & status bar > the corresponding app, enable Allow notifications, and set the notification mode (such as Ringtone, Vibration, Banners, and Lock screen) for each type of message in the app, and disable Gentle notifications.
- Set background protection for Huawei Health.
- HUAWEI phones: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or tap the Recent tasks icon if you're using Three-key navigation) to enter the Recent tasks screen. Find Huawei Health and swipe down on it to lock it. Once locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner.
- Third-party Android phones: Go to Huawei Health > Devices, swipe down on the device screen, tap Watch connection protection/Band connection protection, and follow the onscreen instructions.

If the issue persists

- Restart your phone and try pairing again.
- Check for version updates.

- Clear the phone's Bluetooth cache or restore the network settings.
- Connect to a HUAWEI phone: Open Settings, search for and access the Apps screen, and go to
> Show system processes > Bluetooth > Storage > Clear cache.
- Connect to a third-party Android phone (for example, a Xiaomi phone): Go to Settings > Connection & sharing, select Reset Wi-Fi, mobile networks, and Bluetooth, and tap Reset settings at the bottom.

- Uninstall and then reinstall the Huawei Health app.
Before uninstalling Huawei Health, open the Huawei Health app, go to Me > Privacy management, enable Sync personal info to cloud, Sync fitness data to cloud, and Sync health data to cloud, go to Me > Me > Settings, and tap Sync data manually.
- Restore your watch/band to its factory settings.
A factory reset will clear all personal data from the wearable device. Please exercise caution before proceeding. Back up important data before restoring your watch/band to its factory settings.
