Black borders and frame freezing occur after the monitor is connected to a Mac through a cable for projection

Problem

Black borders and frame freezing occur after the MateView is connected to a Mac through a cable for projection.

Cause

A cable or adapter that does not support 4K+@60 Hz has been used for projection. The Mac's projection port does not support 4K+@60 Hz output from the MateView.

Solution

1. Replace the cable or adapter. It is recommended that you use the dual-head full-function USB-C cable that comes with the MateView for projection or contact Apple's customer service to obtain a standard adapter cable.

2. The MacBook Pro 2016 and earlier Mac devices do not support the MateView's 4K+@60 Hz. When the MateView is connected to such a Mac device for projection, black borders will be displayed on the monitor's screen and the refresh rate can only reach 30 Hz, resulting in frame freezing. (Mac devices released in or later than 2017 are compatible with Huawei 4K+ monitors.)

If the issue persists, call the Huawei customer service hotline.
