The HUAWEI power bank heats up when it is charging or discharging

When the power bank is charging or discharging, some heat may be generated due to energy loss during transmission. This is a normal phenomenon.

If the power bank is overheating, perform the following to troubleshoot:

  1. When the power bank is charging devices in fast charging or SuperCharge mode, more heat will be generated compared with when charging devices at a normal rate (10 W).
  2. Place the power bank in a well-ventilated environment (such as in an open area indoors or on a desk). If heat dissipation is poor, the power bank will dissipate heat slowly when charging and discharging (such as in an outdoor place with sunlight, in a car, on a bed, or on a sofa). To prevent the temperature of the power bank from rising, avoid placing the power bank on top of the device that is being charged. In normal cases, the power bank only slightly heats up. If it is overheating, stop charging or discharging until the temperature drops to the room temperature.
  3. If the battery level of the power bank is low (with only one indicator turning on), the current passing through the internal battery cell will be high and the internal components will generate heat. As the battery level of the power bank increases, the internal current will decrease and the power bank will cool down.
  4. It is recommended that you use a HUAWEI charger to charge the power bank. Third-party chargers may cause the power bank or socket to generate excessive amounts of heat due to their specifications or quality.
  5. Remove the charger and check whether the metal part of its port is dirty or damaged. If it is dirty, clean it and try again.

If your power bank is overheating, back up your data and take your phone, power bank, data cable, and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
