How to reset HUAWEI earphones or restore them to their factory settings

How to reset HUAWEI earphones or restore them to their factory settings
 
  • This FAQ applies to HUAWEI earphones only. For details about another product, please contact the manufacturer.
  • A pair of HUAWEI earphones can be bound to only one HUAWEI ID. If you are going to give your FreeBuds Pro 3/FreeClip earphones to someone else, remove the HUAWEI earphones in the Find Device app first.

Perform the following steps to reset your HUAWEI Bluetooth earphones:

When you restore the earphones to their factory settings, the pairing information will be cleared, all settings will be restored, and the earphones will re-enter Pairing mode. You can then pair the earphones with your phone/tablet.

FreeBuds series earphones

FreeClip earphones

  • FreeBuds SE 2: Place the earphones in the charging case and keep the lid open. Touch and hold the control area on the left and right handles for at least 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes red, which indicates that the earphones have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the earphones once again.

    If you are using the earphones to make a call, play audio, or watch a video, pause the service or disconnect from Bluetooth before restoring the earphones to their factory settings.

  • Other FreeBuds earphones/FreeClip earphones: Place the earphones in the charging case and keep the lid open. Press and hold the Function button (as shown in the following figure) for at least 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes red, which indicates that the earphones have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the earphones once again.

Note: If you release your finger, the indicator will not flash red, and you'll need to try again.

FreeLace series (neckband) earphones

Press and hold the Power button for at least 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes red and then white, which indicates that the earphones have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the earphones once again.

 
  • For FreeLace Lite/xSport Pro earphones that don't have a Power button, press and hold the Function button for 10 seconds or longer.
  • For FreeLace Pro 2 earphones, power the earphones on, and press and hold the Function button for at least 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes red and then white, which indicates that the earphones have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the earphones once again.

FreeBuds Studio (headphones)

When the earphones are powered on, press and hold the Bluetooth button for more than 10 seconds until the indicator flashes red and then white, which indicates that the earphones have been restored to their factory settings. Then, pair the earphones once again.

HUAWEI Sport Bluetooth Headphones

Press and hold both the Power button and the Volume down button for at least 4 seconds.

HONOR FlyPods Lite

HUAWEI FreeBuds Lite

Place the earphones in the charging case and keep the lid open. Press and hold the Function button for at least 10 seconds until the status indicator flashes, which indicates that the earphones have been restored to their factory settings. Then pair the earphones once again.

The Function button is located on the back of the charging case.
