A Bit More About Me
I began my athletic journey by joining the French Golf Federation's elite training programs at
the age of 15, where I developed my skills until I turned 18. I then made the decision to study
in the United States for four and a half years, attending an American university where I earned
a degree in architecture. During that time, I also played golf at a high level, proudly
representing my college across the country.
This experience allowed me to discover a new culture and adopt a different perspective on
sports, one that I now see as a powerful vehicle for connection, sharing, and values. Inspired
by this transformation, I made the decision to turn professional, fully committed to giving
myself every chance to succeed and achieve my dreams.
After using the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro in 2024, I chose to continue my journey with the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro. This watch has become an essential asset in my training, both on the course and on the practice range. Its built-in health monitoring tools help me keep an eye on my overall well-being, which is vital for any athlete in full preparation mode.
“This time, HUAWEI goes a step further by introducing golf-specific tools, without compromising the core strengths that define its wearables: Precise health tracking and performance monitoring.”
Design and Wearability
One of the first things I noticed about the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro is how incredibly lightweight
it is. At just 26 grams without the strap, I sometimes forget I’m even wearing it. Yet it feels
solid and premium, with a vibrant AMOLED display that remains crystal clear even under strong
sunlight. Which is essential during outdoor training sessions, and since golf can only be played
outdoors, that basically means every single one!
The rectangular design gives it a sleek, minimalist look. I can wear it with my golf attire,
travel clothes, fitness trainings and even with casual evening outfit. It’s classy, sporty, and
gives my outfit a clean finish.
Golf Mode: A Subtle But Reliable Mini Coach
The Golf mode is where this watch truly connects with my profession. It provides core motion
tracking, GPS data, and feedback on swing rhythm and movement efficiency. For my daily sessions,
this balance of simplicity and relevance is perfect. On the range, I set a target
backswing–downswing and use the rhythm cue to keep my transition smooth; when the watch shows
I’m rushing the downswing, I pause, reset, and the next sequence usually settles back into
rhythm.
It allows me to stay focused on feel and flow without being distracted by overanalysis. And when
I want a review of my physical performance, not just technique, the
HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro delivers
insightful metrics on energy expenditure and body motion.
What I value most is how non-intrusive the experience is. I activate Golf mode, tighten the
strap, and then forget about the watch. Since I usually know the courses I play, I don’t use the
course map, which means I don’t have to think about the watch during the round. Even if I rarely
use it, the course map is great for golfers on unfamiliar courses or when traveling: it provides
quick hole previews with carry/lay-up distances to hazards, which speeds decisions. Mid- and
high-handicappers can use front/middle/back green depths to choose the right club and plan
lay-ups to their best wedge yardage, and on blind shots or doglegs it gives a reliable aiming
reference. After the round, reviewing the map against actual shots helps tighten course
management for next time.
The Data That Mattered Most to Me & How I Use It:
1. Swing rhythm (backswing: downswing ratio). I aim for a ~3:1 window (roughly 2.8–3.2).
If I slip lower, I know I’m rushing the transition and reset my drill.
2. Tempo consistency (per-set variability). Stable tempo usually tracks with strike
quality; rising variability is my cue to shorten the block or switch tasks.
“With Golf mode, the heart-rate timeline, and post-session summaries, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro gives me the key data I need to decide whether to push, taper, or switch focus the next day.”
Fitness and Strength Training Functions
Golf isn’t just about what happens on the course. A major part of my routine involves strength
and conditioning. The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro includes dedicated workout modes for weight training,
cardio, and stretching. These are surprisingly well thought out.
The watch gently guides me through circuits or cooldowns. There are also video-style animated
guides for stretches, a small but extremely useful feature, especially on travel days or after
long flights.
It doesn’t replace a personal trainer, but it helps me stay disciplined and focused even when
I’m training solo.
Altitude Barometer and Outdoor Utility
When training in changing outdoor environments, whether in the mountains or by the coast, I’ve come
to appreciate the built-in barometer. It gives me the altitude I’m at the moment and this can change
the ball flight. It is a super important feature that can make me gain or lose shots, or even win or
lose a tournament. This is very important for me to know my distances and since I don’t train in the
mountains every day, I’m not use to this change.
Heart Rate Monitoring and Emotional Wellbeing
One of the most consistently useful features is the real-time heart rate monitor. Whether I’m on the
range, lifting weights, or simply in transit between events, it helps me stay connected to my body.
It’s good to know how my body reacts to certain situations and not push myself to work out past my
physical limit.
There’s also an Emotional Wellbeing app on both the
HUAWEI Health App and the
watch, which tracks
your heart rate variability and other bio-signals to estimate your emotional balance. It’s not just
data, it’s awareness. I’ve learned to spot moments of mental fatigue or elevated stress and take
small steps to reset.
Emotional wellbeing is often overlooked in performance tracking, but it makes a big difference. It
helps me detect when my stress levels are rising, and I can respond in time by using the guided
breathing exercises on the watch. This feature has proven especially useful during tournaments,
particularly at the start and toward the end when stress tends to peak. Being able to manage my
emotions more effectively has helped me reduce anxiety and ultimately improve my performance on the
course, which is essential during any tournament when I have to stay calm and collected for a long
period of time.
Battery Life and Travel Convenience
One of my biggest frustrations with past smartwatches was their battery life. Not here. The HUAWEI
WATCH FIT 4 Pro lasts easily 10 days with moderate use, and about 7 days even when I train
heavily with GPS on. On my last tournament trips (practice rounds, competition rounds plus daily
recovery),I went out and came back on a single charge.
It’s stress-free to know that if I forget my charger I can still use my watch during my tournament
and do everything I can with it. Since I always sleep with it on my wrist to track my sleep, it’s
important that I don’t need to have to charge it at night. The fast-charging feature is another huge
win. Ten minutes gives me enough for the whole day. I can easily charge it when I take a shower and
use it right after again. As someone constantly on the move, that kind of reliability is priceless.
Conclusion
The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro
isn’t the flashiest or most data-heavy golf watch out there. But
that’s
exactly why I love it. It does the important things well, and it does them in a way that fits
smoothly into my lifestyle. It helps me track what matters, from swing tempo to sleep cycles,
from
workout reps to emotional states. It is a constant companion, one that quietly supports me
through
every moment of training, travel, and play.
For anyone who plays golf seriously, but also values balance, wellness, and efficiency, the
HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro is what you need. It’s smart, elegant, and insightful. Just like the
best golf swing,
it’s about rhythm, not force. And that’s exactly why it works for me.
