STATEMENT ON WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT (WEEE) SUPPLIED TO BUSINESS TO CONSUMER (B2C) CUSTOMERS IN THE UK
Huawei Technologies (UK) Co., Ltd. (Huawei) is a registered Producer under the Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment Regulations 2013 (Statutory Instrument 2013 No. 3113).
The UK’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations first became law on 2nd January 2007, with
the purpose of preventing and reducing waste from electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) and of promoting
reuse and recycling in order to reduce resource consumption. The law requires the Producer to finance the
collection, treatment, recovery and environmentally sound disposal of WEEE.

All EEE placed onto the market from 2 January 2007 must be marked with the above crossed-out wheelie bin symbol.
This symbol is a reminder that all EEE must be taken to separate waste collection points at the end of their
working lives; they must not be disposed of in normal household waste. Proper collection and recycling of your
equipment helps ensure EEE waste is recycled in a manner that conserves valuable materials and protects human
health and the environment. Improper handling, accidental breakage, damage, and/or improper recycling at the end
of its life may be harmful for your health and the environment.
It is the responsibility of the user to dispose of the equipment using a designated collection point or service
for separate recycling of WEEE according to local laws.
Huawei facilitates the take-back of household WEEE from UK consumers through its membership of a Government
approved Distributor Take-Back scheme set up by Valpak. By joining the Valpak scheme Huawei is contributing to
the establishment of a network of Designated Collection Facilities (DCF) where consumers may dispose of their
WEEE free of charge for recycling and treatment in an ecologically sound manner. In this way Huawei can ensure
that WEEE is disposed of by customers in a way that optimizes its re-use and recycling. You can locate your
closest participating collection site at: www.recycle-more.co.uk.
