The social media fan pages are provided to you by Huawei Technologies
(UK) Co., Ltd., a company incorporated in England with registered number
4295981 and having its registered office at Earley East, Thames Valley Park Drive, Reading, RG6 1PT (hereinafter referred to as
"we" or "Huawei").
This Privacy Notice describes:
Huawei is, jointly with the operators of social media platforms [Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/YouTube/LinkedIn/TikTok] (hereinafter referred to as “Social Media Platforms” or “Platforms”), the data controllers of your personal data when you use the Huawei Fan Pages respectively. We have therefore entered into agreements with these platforms to comply with current data protection regulation.
Please note that the privacy policies of the Platforms also apply to the data processing within the framework of the Social Media Platforms. Further information on how these Platforms process your personal data, including the legal basis they rely on and the approaches to exercise your rights against them, can be found via:

Your data is processed to provide you with the fan pages, and to make the pages more attractive and suitable for our users, as well as to confirm the right time and scope of our publications. We also process your personal data in order to respond to your queries if you send us a direct message through these fan pages. The processing is based on our legitimate interest in operating this fan page.
a) Non-personally identifiable usage and performance statistics.
As part of the operation of the fan pages, we are able to access
statistical data of different categories from the Platforms. This
involves data of both registered and unregistered users. We only
receive anonymous data about you via the Platforms, but the
Platforms do also process personal data on their own.
We are able to access the following statistical data: Total number of page views, “Like” information, page activities, post interactions, video views, scope of the posts, comments, shared content, responses, proportion of men and women, origin by country and city, language, views and clicks in shops, clicks on route planners and clicks on phone numbers.
b) Personal data
We also process your personal data where you interact with us
directly, for example, post on our wall or send us a private message
regarding an inquiry or issue. The personal data we will process
will depend on your particular interaction or query but may include:
Social Media Username; Issue / Inquiry; Details of your Huawei
device you queried about; Name and Contact Details.
We will collect and use your personal data only for the purposes stated in this notice.
Please also consider the abovementioned data policy of the Social Media Platforms to be additionally applied here for the data processing activities.
We retain your personal data for up to 24 months. After the retention period expires, we will delete or anonymise your personal data, unless otherwise required by laws and regulations.
The deletion of the comments and other interactions you left on these platforms is governed by the data protection guidelines of the platform operators as mentioned above.
We process your personal data within the UK and EEA, which is deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data. Huawei complies with all applicable legal requirements to safeguard your personal data transferred outside of the UK. To share data within our corporate group we have entered into specific contracts approved for use in the UK, such as the EU standard contractual clauses, to ensure that an equivalent level of data protection applies to your personal data even where UK data protection laws do not directly apply.
We outsource part of our customer service operations to Havas Worldwide London Ltd, a third-party vendor acting on our behalf. They only process personal data as necessary to fulfil their contracts with us and according to our strict instructions. They do not process any personal data for their own purposes.
Please note that your use of the fan pages may also involve data processing operations of the social media platforms outside the UK. The data protection guidelines of platform operators apply here. In addition, due to the nature of the Internet, contributions published by you on this or other pages of the social media platforms are available worldwide.

You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”). For further information on your rights and how to complain to the ICO, please refer to the ICO’s website: www.ico.org.uk.
For prize promotions on our social media fan pages, the data within the prize promotion is processed for the purpose of conducting the respective prize promotions. The legal basis for the data processing is the fulfilment of contract (prize promotion terms and conditions) and the legitimate interest (provided that your interests and fundamental rights do not override such interests).
We would only process the data you provide for the purpose of prize promotions and/or what is necessary for the conduct of the prize promotion. This concerns in particular:
- User Profile to determine the winner
- Contact Details to deliver the prizes (name, phone number, email address, address)
- Any additional information relevant to the prize promotion (e.g. date of birth, identity information, previous participations, etc.)
There is no legal obligation for you to provide the data; however, failure to submit the information will result in us being unable to consider you as a candidate when awarding prizes.
All data will be retained for a period of 7 years from the closing date of the prize promotion and will then be deleted unless there is a legal obligation to store them.
We may also transfer your data in some cases to service providers who are directly involved in the prize promotion as a partner or who are processing the data on our behalf.
Please note that your use of the fan pages may also involve data
processing operations of the social media platforms. The deletion of the
comments and other interactions you left on these platforms is governed
by the data protection guidelines of the platform operators as mentioned
above.
