Phone/tablet heats up when taking photos and videos |
Problem:
The device heats up when the user is taking photos or shooting videos.
Cause:
Photo and video shooting requires the camera, GPU, and CPU to work together. As a result, during imaging or image processing, the phone processes a lot of data, and consumes a large amount of power, causing it to heat up.
Solution:
- When you are recording videos or taking photos in high-resolution or high-frame-rate mode, Pro mode, Wide aperture mode, Portrait mode, or Long focus mode, the calculation workload is higher and your phone heats up more than in default mode. This is normal. After using such modes, switch back to the default mode, turn off the camera, and turn off the screen.
- If you take photos or record videos in an outdoor environment exposed to sunlight, your phone/tablet will absorb solar radiation and automatically adjust the screen brightness to a higher level, resulting in higher heat consumption than in a low light environment. Stop shooting when you feel that your phone is overheating .
- Your phone/tablet has a comprehensive temperature protection mechanism. When it detects that the component or shell temperature is too high, it will display a message and count down for 5 seconds to save your photos before exiting. This is normal, and you will be able to continue to use the phone after the temperature restores to normal.
If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to a nearby authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
