My phone enters Smart cover mode and only displays half the screen even when I am not using a flip cover |
Cause:
You may have triggered Smart cover mode by mistake. When Smart cover mode is enabled, your phone will enter Smart cover mode when the Hall sensor detects that the flip cover is closed. Your phone will then display the date and time on one half of the screen and turn off the other half of the screen. This issue may happen when there are magnetic objects (such as a phone speaker) or strong magnetic fields nearby (such as from an electromagnetic oven, microwave oven, or wireless charging base). (This issue will not occur in phones without a Hall sensor.)
Solution:
- Keep your phone away from magnetic objects or strong magnetic fields (such as from an electromagnetic oven, microwave oven, or wireless charging base).
- You can also go to Smart cover. to disable
- If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
The Hall sensor is a magnetic field sensor based on the theory of the Hall effect, which can sense a change in the surrounding magnetic field and has an anti-interference function.
Smart cover mode works based on the Hall sensor, which determines whether the flip cover is closed by sensing the magnetic field of the magnet on the cover.
The Hall sensor will be affected by strong external magnetic fields and an abnormality may occur if the Hall sensor is close to an object with a strong magnetic field, such as a magnet or a microwave oven.
