Why doesn't the screen brightness change automatically?
Why doesn't the screen brightness change automatically? |
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot:
1. Ensure that your phone's light sensor is not obstructed. If the light sensor is obstructed, your phone will not adjust the screen brightness automatically.
2. Coloured screen protective films can obstruct your phone's light sensor. This will cause your phone to set the screen to the lowest brightness setting.
3. Go to
and check that is enabled. If is disabled, your phone will not adjust the screen brightness automatically.4. If you have manually adjusted the brightness, your phone will automatically save your brightness preferences and adjust the brightness accordingly. To delete your preferences, disable and then re-enable automatic screen brightness.
5. If you have adjusted the brightness in a third-party app (such as a video player or web browser), close the app and try again. After you adjust the brightness in a third-party app, your phone will stop adjusting the brightness automatically according to ambient light levels.
6. The system may be unresponsive. Restart your phone and try again.
7. If the issue is not solved, back up your data and restore your system, or update it to the latest version.
If the issue persists, the ambient light sensor may be faulty. Back up your data and take your device and the proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
