There is no Fingerprint ID option in Settings on my HUAWEI phone/tablet

Problem:

There is no Fingerprint ID option in Settings on the phone/tablet. (To find the Fingerprint ID option, go to Settings > Biometrics & password > Fingerprint ID.)

Solution:

If the fingerprint button is on the side, check whether the button is bumped. If the appearance is normal or the fingerprint sensor is under the screen, check whether your phone is running the latest system version. If not, update the system version, restart your phone/tablet, and check the fingerprint options in Settings. If the issue persists, the fingerprint sensor is damaged. In this case, back up your data in advance, and take your device and proof of purchase to a nearby Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
