My phone automatically registers with another carrier's network when using 2G services to roaming

If you are in an area that is not covered by your carrier's 2G network or has poor 2G coverage, your device will fail to register with that network. Instead, it will automatically search for available networks from other carriers and register with one of them if possible. This may involve additional fees for international roaming, so please contact your carrier's customer services for further details.

If you want to avoid registering automatically with another carrier's network, perform the following:

  1. Disable automatic carrier selection.

You will then need to manually select a carrier. On your device swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel and touch and hold the Mobile data icon to enter the mobile data settings screen.Select Carrier and turn off the switch next to Automatic. Please bear in mind that the Automatic option will be enabled again after restarting your device.

  1. Contact your carrier and unsubscribe from the roaming service.

After the roaming service is disabled, you will not be able to use foreign networks when travelling abroad.
