Why can't Smart Controller learn and program a key?

Problem:

When Smart Controller attempts to learn a key, the phone screen prompts that the learning feature is temporarily unavailable, while touching the Reprogram option only displays the same notification.

Cause:

The infrared keys learning feature in Smart Controller requires access to the audio channel on your phone. For this reason, this feature is not available in scenarios where the audio channel is already in use. For example:

• During a hands-free call
• During a hands-free video call
• When an alarm rings
• During music or video playback
• When Screen touch sound is enabled
• When TalkBack is enabled
• When Screen lock sound is enabled and you have just unlocked the screen

Solution:

Wait approximately 3 seconds after the audio channel is free and the feature should be available.
