Volume fluctuates or is too low during calls

If the volume fluctuates or is too low during calls, please try the troubleshooting steps below.

1. During a call, press the Volume up button to increase the volume.

2. If your device has a physical receiver , adjust the position between the phone's receiver and your ear and make sure you are not blocking the receiver when holding the phone.Volume fluctuations or even noises may occur if the receiver is blocked. Also, check if the receiver is obstructed by foreign objects. If so, please use a soft brush to clean it.

3. Some device models (such as P30 Pro, Mate 30 Pro or P40 series) gave up the traditional receiver, which was replaced with an acoustic display technology.A small coil magnetically suspended beneath the screen oscillates and generates vibrations, which are then picked up by the display and transformed into sounds.

For an optimal experience, we recommend to place your ear about 2 cm (0.8 in) from the top edge of your device. The volume may be lower if you hold your device in a different position. Also, if you move your smartphone during a call, the call volume may fluctuate or other noises may be heard. If so, please adjust the position of the device. If the issue persists, please back up your data and take your device and proof-of-purchase to an authorised HUAWEI Customer Service Centre or contact HUAWEI Customer Services for further assistance.
