Some apps are not displayed correctly when my HUAWEI phone/tablet is in Split-screen mode

Problem:

You may experience the following display errors while using some apps in Split-screen mode:

  • When the user opens Camera and touches the lower half of the screen, the camera screen displayed in the upper half of the screen turns black or white.
  • In apps such as Geometry Dash Lite, some app buttons do not respond to touches, and the app freezes when the user disables Split-screen mode.
  • The upper edge of the app screen overlaps with the status bar, and a grey stripe is displayed along the right edge of the screen.
  • The screen of a game app turns black when enabling Split-screen mode.
  • A game app closes and runs in the background when enabling Split-screen mode.
  • Apps such as Billiards City and Мой МТС crash unexpectedly when enabling Split-screen mode.
  • When Split-screen mode is enabled on the "select your country" screen, some apps, such as Lazada, crash and restart.
  • When Split screen mode is enabled on the app intro screen, some apps, such as Lazada, close and run in the background.
  • Apps such as TripAdvisor Hotels Flights Restaurants Attractions and Audiobooks from Audible keep loading after Split screen mode is enabled.
  • After Split-screen mode is enabled, apps such as No.Colour restart and freeze on the advertisement page, not responding to touches. When Split-screen mode is disabled, a black screen is displayed.
  • In apps such as Facebook and Yandex, the screen turns black when Split-screen mode is enabled on the camera screen.
  • The app screen begins to flicker after the user enables and disables Split-screen mode in the Weather & Radar app in full screen, opens the camera, and then switches the camera lens.
  • Some app texts are blocked or partially displayed.

    For example, icons or icon texts overlap in apps such as Tinder and ZEDG; some app texts in Snapseed are blocked when touching the tool bar on the right; and pages cannot be completely displayed in apps such as Banco do Brasil and Flipboard.

  • App texts are randomly displayed or the typesetting is abnormal. For example, the screen display is incomplete and displays illegible characters when making a call in Viber Messenger; and texts are displayed vertically on the Google Docs app's start menu page.
  • Amazon Shopping freezes when Split-screen mode is enabled on the scanning screen.
  • Apps such as Waze become transparent and display the home screen wallpaper.
  • The video playback screen of Amazon Prime Video in portrait mode turns black after Split-screen mode is enabled.

    Solution:

    Some apps may not yet be compatible with Split-screen mode. Huawei has reported these issues to relevant app providers and will push them to resolve the issues as soon as possible. Please look out for future app updates and update the app at your earliest convenience.
