Weather information on my HUAWEI watch/band is not up-to-date, or not available at all |
If you are using a HUAWEI WATCH 3 Series or HUAWEI WATCH 4 Series device, refer to this for weather info-related issues.
Wearable-based weather information is not updated in real time. On HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate, HUAWEI WATCH GT 4, HUAWEI Band 8, and HUAWEI WATCH FIT Special Edition, weather data is updated every three hours, and the update will stop if the device detects that you are asleep.
If weather data isn't updating on your watch/band after an extended period or isn't available at all, perform the following to troubleshoot.
Check that your watch/band is linked with Huawei Health
- To view the device connection status, open the Huawei Health app and touch Devices.
- Ensure that Huawei Health is always running in the background.
To prevent the app from being cleared by the system, set it as a protected background app. If you're using a HUAWEI phone, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold to enter the Recent tasks screen, find Huawei Health, and swipe down on it and hold to lock it. Actual steps may vary depending on the phone brand and model. For details, contact your phone's manufacturer.
iOS has a memory management mechanism, which ensures smooth system running and optimises power efficiency by removing apps that have been running in the background for extended periods of time. If that happens, reopen the HUAWEI Health app, and check again.
Enable the Weather reports feature and Location permission for Huawei Health
- Enable the Weather reports feature.
- Go to Huawei Health > Devices, touch the device card to enter the device details screen, touch Weather reports, and toggle on Weather reports.
- Go to Huawei Health > Devices, touch the device card to enter the device details screen, touch Weather reports, and toggle on Weather reports.
- Grant Huawei Health the Location permission.
- HUAWEI phones: Go to Settings > > Apps, search for Huawei Health, go to Permissions > Location, and select Allow all the time.
- iPhones: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > HUAWEI Health, and select Always under ALLOW LOCATION ACCESS.
- Actual steps may vary depending on the phone brand and model. For details, contact your phone's manufacturer.
For HUAWEI and third-party Android phones, it is recommended that you keep HMS Core (Huawei Mobile Services) at its latest version.
- HUAWEI phones: Go to Settings > > Apps, search for Huawei Health, go to Permissions > Location, and select Allow all the time.
Manually refresh the weather information
Ensure your wearable stays connected to your phone via Bluetooth and that your phone has stable access to the Internet. Access the wearable-based Weather app and follow the onscreen instructions to refresh the data. Alternatively, swipe down on the Huawei Health home screen to have the data updated, after which the latest weather data will be automatically synced to your wearable.
