[HUAWEI] My scale can't measure body fat rate

There are several possible causes for this issue. Perform the following.

Enter your correct information

If the corresponding user information is incomplete or incorrect, your scale will be unable to identify all of the relevant data during offline measurements.

Check whether your personal information (gender, date of birth, height, and weight) is correctly set by going to Huawei Health > Me > Profile. Do not set gender to confidential. Once the settings are complete, you'll need to perform an online measurement in the Huawei Health app to make sure that the scale is able to identify your information.

Weigh yourself in a correct manner

If you weigh yourself in an incorrect or inconsistent manner, the scale may be unable to measure your body fat rate.

Please stand straight and barefoot on the scale. Make sure that your heels, legs, and knees are slightly apart and that your feet come into full contact with the electrodes on the scale.

Make sure that your age is within the specified range

Body composition measurements are not supported for users aged under 18 or over 65. Users in these age groups can only use the scale to measure their weight and heart rate. Therefore, when they use the scale to start a measurement, the body fat rate will display as "----".

1. On Android/HarmonyOS phones, the age is currently calculated by year, and the month and day are not considered for the measurement.

For users who weigh 80 kg or less, make sure that there is no other user from the user list whose weight difference from theirs is within 2 kg; for users who weigh more than 80 kg, make sure that there is no other user whose weight difference is within 3 kg

1. You can claim your weight data in the Huawei Health app or start an online measurement instead.

2. To avoid user information from frequently coming into conflict, try the following:

  • Open the Huawei Health app, touch the Weight card, touch Weight management in the upper left corner, and check the user information of all household members. Delete all members whose weight data is similar to yours but do not frequently use the scale. Then perform an online measurement in the app so that the scale can identify your information.
  • For HUAWEI Scale 2 Pro and earlier models, deletion of users with similar weight information can be performed after opening the Huawei Health app and touching Manage data on the scale details screen.
3. If the issue persists, touch Restore factory settings on the device details screen in the Huawei Health app, and pair the devices once again.

  • If you are using a HUAWEI Scale 2 Pro or HUAWEI Scale 3 Pro scale, in addition to standing on the scale correctly, you'll also need to hold the handle tightly with your bare hands without bringing either hand into contact with the other, and stretch your arms forwards without touching your body.
  • When the handle is not pulled up, the HUAWEI Scale 3 Pro is unable to support fat rate and heart rate measurements, and the Huawei Health app will only display weight and BMI.

Make sure that the bottom of your feet is not too dry, especially when there are calluses, to avoid failed measurements (commonly seen with elderly users)

Try applying moisturiser to the bottom of your feet before weighing again.

If the issue persists
