The PC Manager icon is not displayed, Notification Centre cannot be accessed and text recognition does not work after taking a screenshot

Please find below some of the most common scenarios and their possible solutions to when you experience issues with PC Manager. For example, the PC Manager icon is not displayed in the lower right corner of the screen or the icon flashes and then it disappears.Also, even when the PC Manager icon is displayed, the Notification Centre cannot be accessed when clicking on the icon or, after taking a screenshot, the text in the picture is not identified automatically.

  1. The Windows services required by PC Manager did not start
  • In this case, check if the Secondary Logon service is running.Click the Search icon, enter ”Services” in the search box and open the Services app. Look for Secondary Logon and make sure that its status is Running.
  • If Secondary Logon is not running, right-click on it and select Start from the shortcut menu.Then right-click on the Secondary Logon again and select Properties from the shortcut menu. Set the Startup type to Automatic and click OK.

  1. If the issue persists, check if the MBAMainService service is running. Press ALT+CTRL+Del, open Task Manager and go to Services > MBAMainService. Right-click on it and select Start from the shortcut menu.

  2. The PC Manager Notification Centre is not working properly
    • If so, please uninstall PC Manager and install its latest version. Do not overwrite the existing installed version.
    • To uninstall PC Manager, click the Search icon, enter ”Control panel” in the search box and open Control Panel. Set View by to Category and click Uninstall a program under Programs.Look for PC Manager, right-click on it and uninstall the program. Then visit the official Huawei webpage (https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/pc-manager/) and download and install the latest version of PC Manager.
  3. The local language package is not running properly on your computer
  • To solve this, click the Search icon, enter ”cmd” in the search box and select Run as administrator. In the pop-up window enter "sfc /scannow" and press Enter.The computer will start scanning the system and repair the faulty system components.
  • An error occurred while processing the dll file

In this case, rename the dll file. Go to C:\Program Files\Huawei\PCManager\plugins and rename the MonSysPerfPlugin.dll file. For example, you can rename it MonSysPerfPlugin1.dll.
