What services does Petal Maps provide? |
Petal Maps provides location-based services to meet your requirements for travelling and in daily life. These services include map positioning, map display, Points of Interest (POI) searches, POI sharing, public transport updates, real-time traffic updates, traffic incident reports, driving navigation in Landscape mode, driving route planning (to avoid tolls or ferries), head-up display (HUD) navigation services, Display over other apps, and COVID-19 updates.
- Points of Interest (POI): There is a huge amount of POI data and it will continue to grow.
- Turn-by-turn navigation: When you approach a turn in the road, a 3D view is provided on the map to display information about the roads ahead and provide corresponding voice prompts. If you miss the turn, the map will automatically recalculate the route and re-estimate the time required to complete the journey.
- Air gestures: When air gestures are enabled, hold your palm 20 to 40 cm away from the screen until a hand icon appears at the top of the screen. Move your palm closer towards the screen to switch the navigation route view between partial and global navigation views. Use the air gesture again to return to the original navigation screen. Alternatively, wait for 10 seconds and the original screen will be automatically displayed.
- Real-time traffic updates: Petal Maps performs navigation route planning to provide the fastest route, shortest route, toll-free route, or congestion-free route.
- 2D/3D view: By default, Petal Maps is displayed in 2D view. You can swipe up with two fingers on the map screen to switch to 3D view. To switch back to 2D view, swipe down with two fingers on the map screen.
- Head Up Display (HUD) mode: When you are driving, important driving information, such as the speed and navigation information, is projected onto the windscreen in front of you so that you can view the driving information without lowering your head or turning your head, which improves driving safety.
- COVID-19 updates: You will be updated with news about areas affected by COVID-19 and get early warnings.
- Satellite map: The satellite map shows you the changes in the city landscape and environment.
The services for real-time traffic updates and traffic incident reports are only available in certain countries/regions.
Currently, air gestures are supported on Mate 30, Mate 40, and P40 series phones running EMUI 11.0 or later. More devices and EMUI versions will be supported in the future. Please stay tuned for updates.
