[HUAWEI] Using Remote shutter on your HUAWEI WATCH 3/WATCH 4 Series

When connected to a phone, you can use the Remote shutter feature to remotely control your phone to take photos and record videos. You can also preview the photos and videos on your watch.

HUAWEI WATCH 3 Pro new/4 Series: Remote shutter is only available on certain Huawei phones running HarmonyOS 2 or later or running versions later than EMUI 8.1. Preview is only available on certain Huawei phones running EMUI 12.0 or later.

HUAWEI WATCH 3/3 Pro: This feature is only supported on certain Huawei phones running HarmonyOS 2 or EMUI 12.0 or later.

Remotely controlling your phone to take photos or record videos

  1. Press the Up button on the watch to enter the app list, and touch Remote shutter to enable the camera of your phone.
  2. Select Photo, 2s delay, 5s delay, or 30s video on the top of the watch's camera screen.
     
    • When paired with a Huawei phone running EMUI 12.0 or later, you can adjust the focal length of the rear camera by rotating the Up button or pinching two fingers together.
    • When paired with a Huawei phone running EMUI 12.0 or later, you can switch between the front and rear cameras on the watch.
    • If the watch is connected to a Huawei phone running a version later than EMUI 8.1, video shooting is not supported.
  3. Preview the photo or video on your watch, then touch to take a photo or touch to start recording a video.

Viewing photos

Touch the thumbnail in the lower left corner to view the most recent photo on your watch, or see all photos in the Gallery on your phone.
