[Huawei]WLAN error on the watch
[Huawei]WLAN error on the watch |
Please find below some of the most common scenarios and possible solutions for the WLAN errors on your HUAWEI smartwatch.
- If you cannot search for or find a certain WLAN, make sure that the smartwatch is within the WLAN hotspot range and that the hotspot is enabled.
The search may fail if the WLAN has been configured to be hidden; in this case, change the WLAN settings so that it can be detected by other devices.
Your watch can work only when connected to a 2.4 GHz WLAN hotspot.
If it is connected to a 5 GHz hotspot, please enable the 2.4 GHz frequency band as well. For further details about how to enable the 2.4 GHz frequency band on your router or phone, please refer to user manual or contact the manufacturer's customer services.
For example, if you are using a HUAWEI smartphone, swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel, and tap and hold the Personal hotspot icon to access the hotspot settings screen.
Go to More (or Configure hotspot > Show advanced options for EMUI 10.X or below), select AP band and select the 2.4 frequency band.
If you are using an iPhone, turn on the switch for Maximize Compatibility in Personal Hotspot.
- If you cannot connect to a WLAN, make sure that the smartwatch is within the network coverage range and that the hotspot is enabled.
Also, check whether the network connection is normal and whether the WLAN password you entered is correct.
Because they need to be verified on the browser of your phone, the smartwatch cannot connect to portal hotspots available in public places, such as hotels and airports.
The connection may also fail if the hotspot has reached the limit of allowed connections. In this case, check the hotspot settings, remove the limit of connected devices (if any) and then try connecting your watch to the WLAN again.
Check if a whitelist of trusted devices has been configured for the WLAN. If so, add the your watch's MAC address to that whitelist.
- If, after connecting to a WLAN, your watch cannot access the Internet, connect your phone to the same network and check if you have Internet access.
If your phone cannot access the Internet either, then there is an issue with the network and you need to check the WLAN status.
If you are redirected to a login authentication page (for example, when accessing the network in cafe or in a hotel), then your watch cannot use that WLAN.
If you are connecting to the personal hotspot of another phone, make sure that the mobile data service is enable on the other device, so that it can access the Internet normally.
If the issue persists, restart the router and try again the Internet connection on your watch.
- If the WLAN speed on your watch is slow, this is generally caused by the low network speed of the hotspot or by the fact that there are too many devices connected to the same hotspot.
We recommend using a hotspot with a faster network speed.
- If your HUAWEI watch frequently disconnects from the WLAN or fails to reconnect automatically, this is due to the way the Internet connection works.
When the watch is connected to your phone via Bluetooth, it will use the phone's network and it will automatically disconnect from the WLAN.
This is normal and does not indicate an issue with your watch.
If the WLAN is unstable or the signal is weak, the watch may disconnect from the network. In this case, we recommend that you try another WLAN.
If the WLAN can't reconnect automatically, we recommend that you go to the WLAN settings screen and manually reconnect your device.
