| Unable to tap Reset phone in the system recovery mode on my HUAWEI phone |
Problem:
The phone cannot be powered on as usual and enters the system recovery mode automatically, and the Reset phone button is greyed out.
Solution:
Enter Recovery mode to perform the Reset phone operation. This will delete all data on your phone (including photos, apps, and settings). Please proceed with caution. To do so, take the following steps:
- Make sure that your phone is powered off and not connected to a USB cable.
- Press and hold down on the Power and Volume up buttons until Recovery mode displays, as shown in the following figure (if there is no Volume button on your phone, press the Power button five times in succession to enter Recovery mode after the phone vibrates during a power-on).
- Select Clear data > Reset phone (some phones may require you to enter "yes" to confirm the operation).
- After resetting your phone, tap Back to return to the Recovery mode screen, and tap Restart to access the home screen.

If the issue remains unresolved, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
Thanks for your feedback.
