Enable Smart Unlock

Smart Unlock enables you to unlock your device with a Bluetooth device, such as a smart band, without a password, fingerprint, or facial authentication.

  1. Pair your device with the Bluetooth device.

After the pairing is successful, the Bluetooth device name will be displayed in the Paired devices list on the Bluetooth settings screen.

  2. On your device, go to Settings > Biometrics & password > Smart Unlock, and enable Smart Unlock.

  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to set the lock screen password. Skip this step if a lock screen password has already been set.

  4. On Smart Unlock the screen, touch Add device, select the desired Bluetooth device from the Paired devices list, and follow the onscreen instructions.

After it has been selected, the Bluetooth device name will be displayed in the Unlocking Devices list.

When your device is connected to a Bluetooth device, turn on the screen of your device and swipe on the screen to unlock it.

To learn more about Smart Unlock, touch on the Smart Unlock screen.

Enable Enhanced Mode

For greater security, enable Enhanced mode when using Smart Unlock so your device will only be unlocked when it detects a Bluetooth device that supports Enhanced mode.

On the Smart Unlock screen, enable Enhanced mode and perform operations as prompted. It may take some time for your device to establish a trusted connection with a Bluetooth device.

The Bluetooth device will then authenticate your device when:

  • The Bluetooth device is near your device.

  • You are wearing the Bluetooth device.

  • Your device has previously been unlocked using any unlock method (PIN, pattern, or password) on this device.
