Unable to access PrivateSpace from the lock screen on my HUAWEI phone |
The issue may be caused by password settings, smart unlock settings, or fingerprint unlock settings. Perform the following to troubleshoot:
Check your PrivateSpace and MainSpace passwords and see whether one password contains part of the other
Make sure that neither of your passwords contains a part of the other. Otherwise, you will not be able to access PrivateSpace from the lock screen. For example, if your MainSpace password is 12345, your PrivateSpace password cannot be 1234 or 123456. To change the PrivateSpace password, search for and access the PrivateSpace screen in Settings.
Check whether your MainSpace and PrivateSpace passwords are of the same type
Make sure that both passwords are of the same type. For example, if the PrivateSpace password is a PIN code and the MainSpace password is a pattern, you will not be able to access PrivateSpace from the lock screen. To change the type of password for your PrivateSpace, search for and access the PrivateSpace screen in Settings. Set the PrivateSpace password type to the same type as your MainSpace password. You can also enrol different fingerprints for PrivateSpace and MainSpace in order to be able to quickly access the different spaces from the lock screen.
Check whether the MainSpace password has been deleted
If there is no password for MainSpace, you will not be able to access PrivateSpace from the lock screen. Search for and access PrivateSpace from Settings, or set a lock screen password for MainSpace.
Check whether Smart unlock has been enabled
When Smart unlock is enabled and your device is connected to a Bluetooth device, the method for unlocking your screen will change, and you won't be able to switch to PrivateSpace using your password or fingerprint. You can disable Smart unlock if necessary.
Open Settings, then search for and disable Smart unlock.
Check whether fingerprint unlock has been enabled

When unlocking your phone for the first time after restarting your phone, you can only access your MainSpace.
