Problem
There are different printer names when the user selects a printer using HUAWEI Print on a mobile device or VOP on a PC.
Cause
Printers are named differently due to different connection modes.
Solution
Currently, major printer names are described as follows to help you select the correct printing mode:
Mobile devices:
- DIRECT-HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) indicates that the printer is directly connected in P2P mode.
- HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) indicates that the printer is connected through the LAN.
- HUAWEI PixLab X1 Remote indicates that the printer is connected in remote printing mode.
PCs:
- DIRECT-HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) -00 indicates that the printer is configured on an IPv4 address.
- DIRECT-HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) -01 indicates that the printer is configured on an IPv6 address.
- HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) -WLAN indicates that the printer is connected through the LAN or in USB direct printing mode.
- HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) -CLOUD indicates that the printer is connected in remote printing mode.
