There are different printer names when my printer is connected to mobile devices and PCs

Problem

There are different printer names when the user selects a printer using HUAWEI Print on a mobile device or VOP on a PC.

Cause

Printers are named differently due to different connection modes.

Solution

Currently, major printer names are described as follows to help you select the correct printing mode:

Mobile devices:

  1. DIRECT-HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) indicates that the printer is directly connected in P2P mode.
  2. HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) indicates that the printer is connected through the LAN.
  3. HUAWEI PixLab X1 Remote indicates that the printer is connected in remote printing mode.

PCs:

  1. DIRECT-HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) -00 indicates that the printer is configured on an IPv4 address.
  2. DIRECT-HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) -01 indicates that the printer is configured on an IPv6 address.
  3. HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) -WLAN indicates that the printer is connected through the LAN or in USB direct printing mode.
  4. HUAWEI PixLab X1-XXXX (last four digits of the SN) -CLOUD indicates that the printer is connected in remote printing mode.
