Setting system visual effects, such as enabling or disabling Show shadows under mouse pointer or Show shadows under windows
  1. Press Win+I to open the Settings window, and go to System > About.

  2. Click Advanced system settings. Choose the Advanced tab in the displayed System Properties window, and click Settings under Performance.

  3. In the Performance Options window, go to Visual Effects > Custom, and set your customised visual effects. Deselecting Show shadows under mouse pointer and Show shadows under windows will remove shadows under your mouse pointer and those under the text of desktop icons.
