A black screen is displayed when HDR is enabled and disabled |
Problem
- In Power adapter mode, the user opens the Start menu, goes to Settings > System > Display, and clicks Use HDR. A black screen is displayed. The screen goes back to the normal home screen after one second.
- In Power adapter mode, the user opens the Start menu, goes to Settings > System > Display, and enables Use HDR. In this case, if the user removes or reconnects the power adapter, the screen turns black and then goes back to normal.
Cause
- HDR is a type of high dynamic light rendering. When HDR is enabled or disabled, the display will be adapted again. Therefore, the black screen is displayed, which is normal.
- HDR is disabled in Battery mode because how long the battery can be used for will be shortened if HDR is enabled. HDR can be enabled or disabled in Power adapter mode. Therefore, when you enable HDR in Power adapter mode and then switch to Battery mode, HDR will also be disabled. In this case, the black screen will be displayed. Similarly, if you switch Battery mode to Charging mode, a black screen will be displayed.
Solution
- Solution to problem 1: This is normal. Please do not be concerned.
- Solution to problem 2: This is normal. Please do not be concerned. In addition, if you remove or reconnect the power adapter after HDR is disabled in Power adapter mode, this issue will not occur.
