The earphones and charging case are portable and exquisite, but they could also be lost easily. What should you do if it occurs? Here are some tips for you.
Try Find My Earphones feature
The HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2, FreeBuds 5i, FreeBuds 4, FreeBuds Pro, and FreeBuds Studio support the feature Find My Earphones. After the earphones are connected to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth, you can view the location of your earphones in the device list using any of the following methods:
- On your phone, open , log in with your HUAWEI ID, and search for your earphones.
- On your phone, go to , touch the Setting icon
next to the name of the earphones, and touch Find My Earphones.
- Open AI Life App, touch the earphones card to enter the details screen, and touch Find My Earphones.
- Use a browser on your phone or computer to visit the official HUAWEI Mobile Cloud website, then locate your earphones.
Location of your earphones
- If the earphones are connected with your phone or tablet via Bluetooth, you can view the real-time location of the earphones on the map of your phone or tablet.
- FreeBuds Pro earphones could not play the ringtone in the charging case with the lid off.
- FreeBuds Studio earphones could not play the ringtone when they are off.
- If the earphones and your phone or tablet are disconnected, the location displayed on the map is the location of your earphones when the Bluetooth connection was lost.
- To use Find My Earphones, make sure that your phone or tablet runs EMUI 11.0/HarmonyOS 2.0 or later. For phones or tablets purchased outside the Chinese mainland, please ensure that they support HMS Core and GMS is not installed.
- To use Find My Earphones, you should log in to your HUAWEI ID and enable Find Device in advance. The location of the earphones will be recorded only if they've been connected to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth before.
Purchase a new one
If the loss of your earphones or charging case is confirmed and you can not repair them, for a better user experience, it is recommended to purchase new earphones or charging case.
After replacing each earphone, the new earphone may not be running the same software version as the old one. (in this case, the version number of your headphones will be displayed as 1.0.0.XXX (all) ), or may not run the latest version. Place both earphones in the charging case and hold the Function button for at least 10 seconds until the indicator blinks to return the earphones to factory settings. Next, pair the headphones with your phone and update their firmware to the latest version.
