Problem:

A blank home screen can't be deleted, since there's no Delete icon on the home screen editing screen.

Cause:

Abnormal refreshing of third-party widgets can cause the floating window on the blank home screen to come transparent, and thus not able to be deleted.

Solution:

• It is recommended that you try touching and holding the four corners of the screen (as shown in the red boxes below) to see whether the window can pop up. If the window pops up, touch the Uninstall or Delete option to delete the blank home screen.

  

• If the issue persists, go to Developer options, and enable Show layout bounds.
  1. Go to Settings > About phone, and touch Build number multiple times in succession until the message "you are now a developer!" displays.
  2. Go to Settings > System & updates > Developer options on your phone/tablet, and enable Show layout bounds.
  3. Return to the blank home screen, check the view, and touch and hold the view to uninstall or delete.
