| Battery working principles and usage tips for HUAWEI kids watches |
In this intelligent era, watches are no longer just tools for telling time. They are more like assistants in our daily lives. HUAWEI kids watches are no exception. As a guardian of children's safety in daily life, they not only allow children to contact their parents in a timely manner, but also help parents keep track of their children's location at any time. They have won the recognition of both parents and children.
HUAWEI kids watches can have a SIM card inserted for mobile communications. In this continuous network connection state, the battery will continuously discharge. Therefore, the battery life of most kids watches is similar to that of a phone, lasting about one day in normal usage scenarios. In addition, the battery life of a watch is affected not only by factors such as the network conditions, frequency of use, and battery capacity, but also by its features. For example, to ensure that parents can view their child's location and track information at any time, the device-cloud interaction will continue to run in the background, consuming power. This is also the main reason why the battery life of kids watches is shorter than that of sports watches.

You can refer to the following methods to help the watch save power:
- At home/In other indoor scenarios
In some indoor environments, due to dense building spacing or insufficient network provider network coverage, the watch will constantly search for an available network or switch between base stations, leading to higher power consumption. Therefore, it is recommended that you connect the watch to a Wi-Fi network at home or in other indoor scenarios to save power. To do so, go to watch Settings, enable Wi-Fi, and connect to a suitable Wi-Fi network.
- During class
It is recommended that you enable Class Time to help your child focus on learning and save power. To enable this feature, open the HUAWEI FamCare app, go to Devices > Usage stats & time limits, and toggle on Class Time.
- In outdoor scenarios/When the battery is low
To maintain a long battery life for outdoor activities such as hiking, travelling, or climbing a mountain:
- Enable Power Saving mode by opening the HUAWEI FamCare app, going to Devices > Battery management, and toggling on Power Saving mode. When Power Saving mode is enabled, only basic features such as calling and positioning are available, but the battery lasts longer.
- Close power-intensive features, such as track, safe zones, and offline positioning. To do so, open the HUAWEI FamCare app, go to Protection > Location reminders, tap
in the upper right corner and then School guard/Frequented locations/Safe zones, and toggle off the corresponding switch.
