No pop-up window for pairing displays on my HUAWEI phone when I place it close to my watch/band

Note: The proximity detection feature is available only on HUAWEI phones.

If the issue occurs, perform the following to troubleshoot:

  1. Ensure that your phone is running EMUI 12.0 or later.
  2. Update the Huawei Health app to its latest version.
  3. Place your watch/band within 30 cm of your phone.
  4. Disable and then enable Bluetooth on your phone. Ensure that the phone screen is on.
  5. Disconnect your watch/band from the current phone to get it ready for pairing. (The following animation uses HUAWEI WATCH FIT 3 as an example and is for reference only.)

    • If you are using the HUAWEI WATCH GT 2/HUAWEI WATCH GT 3/HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner Series, go to Settings > System > Disconnect on your wearable device.
    • If you are using the HUAWEI WATCH 3 Series, go to Settings > System & updates > Disconnect on your wearable device.
    • If you are using the HUAWEI TalkBand B6, go to Settings > System > Connectivity > Disconnect.
    • The HUAWEI WATCH FIT does not have the Disconnect option. In this case, restore your watch to its factory settings. (Back up your data before restoring your wearable device to its factory settings, as it will clear all data from the device.)
  6. Touch CONNECT within one minute after the pop-up window is displayed on your phone.

The Bluetooth broadcast duration of your watch/band for pop-up pairing is one minute. If you do not perform any operations during this period, turn on the screen of the watch/band to start broadcasting again.

    1. On the displayed Bluetooth message syncing prompt on your phone, touch ALLOW. Then on the displayed Pairing request prompt on your watch/band, touch .
    2. During the pairing, carefully read the agreement and statement, select I have read and agree to the above terms, and touch NEXT to complete the pairing.

      * The following animation uses HUAWEI Band 9 as an example and is for reference only.

  7. If the issue persists, clear the device connection service data and refer to the steps five and six to pair your wearable device with your phone again.

To do so, go to Settings > Apps & services > Apps on your phone, touch in the upper right corner and then Show system processes, search for "Device connection service", and touch Device connection service > Storage > Clear data > Clear cache. Then disconnect your watch/band from the current phone and try pairing again.

If the issue remains unresolved, please call the Huawei customer service hotline for further assistance.
