Double-tap feature of HUAWEI M-Pencil (2nd/3rd generation/Pro)

You can double-tap your stylus to switch between eraser and brush tools, or customize the double-tap feature based on your needs.

Correct way to use the double-tap feature

  • It is recommended that you double-tap the sensing area (within 40 mm) as shown in the following figure, with your finger sufficiently contacting the sensing area.

  • Keep the stylus stable when you tap. It is recommended that you use your index finger.
  • For a demo image of the correct operation, go to Settings > Accessibility features > Stylus > Double-tap.

Apps that support the double-tap feature and how to use them

You can go to Settings > Accessibility features > Stylus > Double-tap to set the double-tap feature for pre-installed apps, such as Notepad and Notes.

You can also configure the double-tap switching feature on third-party apps such as TouchNotes. The double-tap feature of the Huawei stylus is open to third-party apps. If you cannot use this feature in an app other than those listed above, it is because the app is not compatible with this feature. For more compatible apps, stay tuned for official information.

GoPaint

Open GoPaint, go to Menu () > Preferences > Stylus > Double-tap quick switch, and select Double-tap to use the double-tap feature in GoPaint.

Notes

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Stylus > Double-tap quick switch and select Double-tap to use the double-tap feature in Notes.

TouchNotes

Open the app and go to Settings > Double Click Pen.

Jnotes

For Jnotes 2.1.4.1 or later, open the app, tap the profile picture in the upper left corner, and go to Setting > Stylus pen's button function setting > Stylus pen (Double-click).

For Jnotes versions earlier than 2.1.4.1, open the app, go to Settings > Accessibility features > Stylus > Double-tap and set the double-tap feature. You can then open the app to use the feature.

Precautions for using the double-tap feature

  1. Certain third-party apps do not support this feature.
  2. Double-tap the stylus in the sensing area.
  3. When you tap the stylus, a large relative displacement may occur between the stylus and the position where you hold the stylus (for example, the thumb). In this case, the double-tap feature will be automatically disabled.
  4. The stylus may not recognize your double-tap action due to a small contact area.
  5. When you quickly shake the stylus, the double-tap function will be automatically disabled.
  6. The stylus will automatically disconnect when the battery level is low.
