Troubleshoot screen display issues on my HUAWEI band/watch

If a black or white screen, a blurred screen, or a dotted line appears on your wearable device, or the screen automatically jumps, perform the following steps to troubleshoot:

Try performing a forced restart first

  1. If this issue occurs occasionally, forcibly restart the device as follows:
    • For HUAWEI bands/watches: Press and hold the side button or watch crown for more than 12 seconds to restart the band/watch. After the restart, check whether the system is running properly.
    • For HUAWEI kids watches: Press and hold the Home button or the Home and Function buttons at the same time (depending on your watch) to forcibly restart the device.
  2. If the issue does not recur after the restart, it indicates that the system is running properly.

Try the following operations if the forced restart does not work

  1. Check whether the Huawei Health or HUAWEI FamCare app can be connected to and display the band/watch, as shown in the following figure.

  2. If the connection is normal, check whether the band/watch software is up to date by performing the following steps:
    • Update your kids watch to the latest version via the HUAWEI FamCare app, or update your band/watch via the Huawei Health app. During this period, it is recommended that you place your band/watch on the charging cradle and check whether it can be charged properly.

      If your HUAWEI WATCH 3/4/5/Ultimate 2 Series watch paired with an iPhone cannot be updated via the Huawei Health app, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.

    • After the update is complete, check whether the issue persists.
  3. If the device is running the latest version, but the Huawei Health/HUAWEI FamCare app cannot be properly connected to or cannot display the band/watch, or the device screen is still black/white/blurred or has dotted lines, your device may have a hardware fault. In this case, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
