To ensure a good experience, it is recommended that you clean your earbuds on a weekly basis, especially the sound output holes, charging ports, metal contacts, and parts that touch your skin when you wear the earbuds.

- Use alcohol wipes or antibacterial wipes to clean the external surface of the wireless earbuds. However, to prevent moisture or water from entering the earbuds, do not use these wipes to clean the ear caps, charging contacts and ports, speaker meshes, mesh, or sound output holes.
Cleaning the FreeClip earbuds
Avoid overstretching or bending the C-bridge when cleaning FreeClip, as this may affect your wearing experience.
- Cleaning the charging case and charging port:
- Clean the charging case with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, use a wet wipe containing 70% alcohol to clean the external surface of the charging case. Make sure that the charging case is dry before putting the earbuds back inside.
- Use a soft, clean, and dry brush to remove any grime from the charging port.
- Cleaning the metal contacts on the charging case and earbuds:
- Use a pointed cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the metal contacts on the charging case, and use a clean and dry lint-free cloth to clean the metal contacts at the bottom of the earbuds.
If the metal contacts on the charging case sink or are dirty, you can use a pointed cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to gently clean the contacts to dissolve the dirt. Then, use a clean cotton swab to remove the dirt on the contacts.

- If the earbuds have been exposed to sweat, shower gel, shampoo, or other liquids, or if you have worn the earbuds during a workout, clean and dry the surface and charging contacts of the earbuds before putting the earbuds back in the case. If the charging contacts are dirty or corroded, clean them in a timely manner. If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.

Cleaning the FreeBuds series earbuds
- Cleaning the charging case:

- Cleaning the ear tips:
- Remove the ear tips from the earbuds, and wash them with clean water or clean them with an alcohol-free wipe. Do not use soap or any other household cleaning products.
- Use a soft, clean, and dry cloth to clean the ear tips before attaching them on to the earbuds.
- Do not use alcohol-based wipes to clean the ear tips, as this may cause irritation.
- The shape-memory foam ear tips of the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 4 are made of polyurethane (PU) materials. Do not use alcohol, water, or other liquids to clean the earbuds, as doing so may damage them or shorten their service life. If the ear tips are exposed to sweat or water, absorb any excess moisture by gently rubbing them with a tissue, and place them in a cool area to air dry. Do not use a hair dryer or other heat sources to dry the ear tips, as doing so may deform the ear tips.

- Cleaning the indicator (only applicable to FreeBuds SE 4 ANC/FreeBuds SE 3/FreeBuds SE 2): Use a dry soft brush to gently brush the dirt out of the holes or try blowing any dust out. Avoid using sharp objects to touch the mesh. Otherwise, the mesh may be damaged.
Cleaning FreeArc

Finally, make sure that the earbuds are dry before placing them in the charging case.
- Do not use water to clean the sound outlet and rear sound output hole.
- Keep the soft brush clean and free of impurities. Do not use the brush to clean the sound outlet and rear sound output hole, as this may cause scratches.
- Cleaning the holes and vents on the earbuds: Use a clean and dry cotton swab with a pointed tip to gently remove any dirt and earwax from the holes, and then use a soft cloth to clean the holes.
- Cleaning the microphone holes: Use a clean, dry soft brush to gently remove the dirt from the surface of the microphone holes, and then use a fine pin to gently remove the dirt from the microphone holes.
- To avoid damaging the microphones, do not exert too much force when cleaning the earbuds with the fine pin.
- Do not clean the microphone holes with water.

Cleaning the FreeLace series wireless earbuds
- Cleaning the ear tips:
- Remove the ear tips from the earbuds, and wash them with clean water or clean them with an alcohol-free wipe. Do not use soap or any other household cleaning products.
- Clean and dry the ear tips using a lint-free cloth or by placing them in a well-ventilated environment before attaching them tightly to the earbuds.
Do not use alcohol-based wipes to clean the ear tips, as this may cause irritation.
- Cleaning the sound output hole and air vent: Use a soft, clean, and dry brush to gently remove any dirt or earwax from the sound output hole and air vent, and then use a soft cloth to clean the hole and vent.

- Cleaning the rear cover on the top of the earbud: Use a clean cotton cloth to gently clean the rear cover following the texture lines. Avoid the subwoofer holes when cleaning.
- Cleaning the earbuds: Use a soft and damp cloth to gently clean the neck cable, earbuds, control panel, and battery box until they are clean and dry.
Cleaning the FreeBuds Studio headphones
- Cleaning the mesh fabric and ear caps: Use a soft brush to gently remove any foreign objects. Use a soft and damp cloth to gently clean the ear caps.
- Cleaning the metal mesh on the microphone hole: Use a soft brush and then a soft cloth to clean the metal mesh.
Tips for wearing wireless earbuds
When wearing wireless earbuds, be aware of the following:
- If the FreeBuds/FreeLace series earbuds have been exposed to sweat, shower gel, shampoo, cosmetics, sunscreen, or other skincare liquids that may irritate the skin, or if you have worn the earbuds during a workout, make sure to clean and dry the earbuds and your ears before wearing again.
- Check the materials of the earbuds for any substances that you are uncomfortable with or may cause irritation. For details, see Health information about wearing wireless earbuds.
If your ears get red or itchy, feel wet, or become allergic to the earbuds, stop using the earbuds and clean them immediately. If your symptoms still persist, see a doctor and decide whether to continue using your earbuds.
