A message indicating that the connection is being set up is displayed when I make a video call using the HUAWEI FamCare app

1. Ensure that the phone and kids watch are connected to the network.

Ensure that the SIM card of the kids watch is not an IoT card, and the phone and watch are properly connected to the network, that is, the signal strength () is greater than three bars.

2. Update the version of the HUAWEI FamCare app

Update HUAWEI FamCare to the latest version.

3. Update the version of the HMS Core on your phone

  • HUAWEI phones: Go to Settings > Apps & services > Apps > HMS Core and touch the Settings icon and then Check for updates. If a red dot is displayed on the Check for updates button, it indicates that a new version of HMS Core is available. You can touch to display the update dialog box. A message indicating that the version is the latest is displayed if no new version is available.
  • Third-party Android phones: You can view and update the HMS Core in the app store pre-installed on the phone. If HMS Core cannot be found in the pre-installed app store, download and install HUAWEI AppGallery, then search for and install HMS Core in HUAWEI AppGallery.
  • iPhones are not involved.

4. Restart the HUAWEI FamCare app

Close the HUAWEI FamCare app in the background, restart the app, and try again.
