Contacts' names are not displayed in WhatsApp, while their phone numbers are displayed

Problem:

Contacts' names are not displayed in WhatsApp, while their phone numbers are displayed.

Solution:

  1. Update your WhatsApp to the latest version. Ensure that you use the official WhatsApp.
  2. Export all your existing WhatsApp contacts to SIM and to Phone：
    1. Go to device Settings > Apps & services > Contacts, tap Import/Export > Export to SIM, and then choose WhatsApp.
    2. Go to Import from SIM, and select all and then Import.
  3. Create new contacts in device Contact app.
    1. Go to device Contact > New contact.
    2. Tap Add information.
    3. Create a new contact.
  4. The permission to access Contacts has not been enabled for WhatsApp. As a result, WhatsApp cannot obtain contact information.Allow WhatsApp to access Contacts: Go to Settings > Apps > Apps, touch WhatsApp, and enable the Contacts permission.
  5. Click Force stop, return to the home screen, and restart the WhatsApp app.
