Configuring the network for the printer once the computer is connected to the printer via a cable

If you've connected your computer to the printer via a cable and skipped the network configuration steps, you can perform the following steps to configure the network for the printer again once the connection is complete:

  1. Open the printer homepage in HUAWEI PC Manager, or open the Huawei Print client, then click the More icon in the upper right corner, and select Settings.

  2. Touch Network, and select a Wi-Fi network that your computer has been connected to from the Wi-Fi name drop-down list. Enter the password in Wi-Fi password, then scroll down and click SAVE.

  3. Press the Power button of the printer to power off the printer. After about one minute, restart the printer, in order for the network settings to take effect.

If you prefer to use a wired network, connect the network cable to the network port of the printer, and restart the printer for the network settings to take effect.

  4. At this point, the printer has been added to the computer's LAN. If you would like to disconnect the USB cable and use the printer, go to HUAWEI PC Manager or the Huawei Print client, and select Over LAN instead.
    • HUAWEI PC Manager: Go to My devices > ADD DEVICE > ADD MANUALLY and select the printer category. The computer will automatically search for printers on the LAN. From the results, select the printer you require, and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the connection.

    • Huawei Print client: click ADD PRINTER > Over LAN. From the results, select the printer you would like to connect, and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the connection.
