Why does the Internet wizard indicate improper network cable connection after the network cable is connected |
Your network cable may not be correctly connected, or the network cable port may be in poor contact.
- Check whether the network cable is connected correctly. The optical modem or wall-mounted network cable must be connected to the WAN port of the router.
- Check whether the network cable is properly inserted to the network port. Check whether the network cable connector is properly connected to the router and the optical modem. If not, manually adjust the connector to ensure proper connection.
- Use another network cable. The network cable may not be recognized if the connector is not made according to local standards, or if the wire is broken. It is advised that you try with another network cable.
- Use another port on the optical modem. Some optical modems have multiple network ports, and some of the network ports may work for other functions, such as the IPTV. If the network cable is connected to an incorrect network port, the identification may fail. Connect the network cable to the network ports on the optical modem one by one to check if the cable can be identified.
