How to report traffic conditions in Petal Maps |
Function overview
Petal Maps comes with a traffic situation function, which notifies you of any accidents, congestion, or other traffic conditions on the road you are planning to drive on. This allows you to replan your route long before you arrive to the scene of an accident or traffic jam and avoid getting stuck in the middle of the road. The traffic condition information in Petal Maps is calculated based on the information provided by the traffic control department and drivers, as well as the road condition data obtained via GPS.
How to report traffic conditions
Touch the report button in the bottom left corner in the navigation, and you will see icons that represent accidents, roadworks, standing water, road closures, and traffic jams respectively (some countries have one more icon representing the police). Select among these types of traffic conditions based on the actual situation and choose among three severity levels: minor, moderate, and severe. Petal Maps will review your information, update the traffic condition information in real time, and display a road condition indication on various screens, including the route planning and navigation screens, so that you can avoid that road section when planning your route. It takes a few minutes for you to be able to view the updated road condition information on the map.
