My MateView monitor does not work when being connected to a host device using an adapter cable

Problem

The monitor does not work when the user uses an adapter cable to connect the host device to the monitor.

Cause

The types of ports at both ends of the adapter cable and their supported bandwidths are different. The bandwidths of typical monitor ports in descending order are as follows: Type C > DP > HDMI > DVI > VGA. Data can be transmitted normally from a port with high bandwidth to a port with low bandwidth, which is passive transmission. However, an active chip is required to transmit data from a port with low bandwidth to a port with high bandwidth. The typical adapter cable can only be used for unidirectional passive transmission. The monitor will not work if the user switches the two ends of the adapter cable.

Solution

Solution 1: Use Direct connection mode to ensure a stable signal transmission and a better projection experience.

Solution 2: If you cannot use Direct connection mode, it is recommended that you use a third-party cable that has been tested and can be used properly. The projection success rate of a cable that has not been tested cannot be ensured. The cable connection modes are as follows:

DP-to-MiniDP transmission (bidirectional transmission is supported):

MiniDP-to-HDMI transmission (MiniDP is connected to the host device and HDMI is connected to the monitor):

DP-to-HDMI transmission (DP is connected to the host device and HDMI is connected to the monitor): If there are black borders on the top and bottom of the monitor during projection, there is no recommended cable. You can use a DP-to-MiniDP adapter cable instead.

Type-C-to-HDMI transmission (Type-C is connected to the host device and HDMI is connected to the monitor):

Type-C-to-MiniDP transmission (Type-C is connected to the host device and MiniDP is connected to the monitor):

Type-C-to-Type-C transmission (Type-C ends are connected to the host device and monitor separately):
