Problem:
System update changelog says, in some cases, the device will automatically search for, download, and install system or app updates from your carrier and device manufacturer. (This may use mobile data.)
Cause:
There is an automatic update feature which resolves urgent issues by updating your device system or apps.
Solution:
You can disable Automatic system updates (which is enabled by default) by performing following operations.
However, disabling the switch is not recommended, as your device may not receive important updates in time after you do so.
- Enable Developer options.
Open Settings, then search for and access About phone/About tablet.
Quickly touch the version number seven times until you see You are already a developer.. (Enter the lock screen password when asked.)
It requires a basic understanding of the phone/tablet features for the settings in Developer options to be properly set. It is strongly recommended that you disable Developer options in daily use, to prevent any possible errors or faults rising from improper settings.
- Open Settings, search for and access Automatic system updates, then turn off the feature.
