Check whether your phone supports the True-to-Colour Camera. You can visit the Huawei Consumer BG official website, enter "mobile phone model + appearance" (for example, HUAWEI Pura 80 appearance) in the search box, and select Support to find the appearance of your phone model. You can also call Huawei customer service hotline.
If your phone supports the True-to-Colour Camera, ensure that your finger is not blocking the camera lens when taking photos or recording videos. If your phone does not support the True-to-Colour Camera or the camera lens is not blocked, perform the following steps:
Problem:
- There is a colour cast when the user takes photos or records videos on the same phone.
- Photos taken in certain modes, such as Vivid mode, Pro mode, and Portrait mode, have colour casts and poor effects.
- The preview or photos/videos taken with third-party apps, such as WeChat and TikTok, have colour casts or poor effects.
- A special mode has been set by going to Settings > Display & brightness.
Cause:
- The quality and colouration of your photos depend on ambient light conditions and camera angles.
- The Vivid mode tends towards high saturation and contrast, while the Pro mode, which aims to capture more original image information, does not overly optimise the photos. This provides users with higher shooting freedom and original light and shadow materials. Different shooting modes offer varying display styles, giving you more choices. In certain special lighting environments (such as coloured light or mixed light scenes) or darker scenes, special modes are likely to cause colour casts.
- Photos or videos taken with third-party apps have their image resolution and colour information compressed, resulting in lower image quality compared to the native Camera app.
- If the display settings on the screen are set to other modes, the colours of photos or videos may be affected.
Solution:
- Taking photos in places with mixed colour temperatures may affect your shooting experience. It is recommended that you take photos in environments with good light conditions (natural light).
- If colour cast occurs when you take photos or record videos in special modes, you can try to restore the camera to its default settings. Tap the Settings icon in the upper right corner of the Camera screen, and tap RESTORE DEFAULTS at the bottom of the Settings screen.
- If photos or videos taken with third-party apps have colour casts or poor effects, it is recommended that you use the default settings of the system camera to shoot.
- Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Colour mode & temperature, and set the colour mode to Standard.
Disable special display modes by going to Settings > Display & brightness, and disable Eye Comfort and Dark modes).
